[VIDEO BLOG] TRW Alumni Interview - Lynda Coker

At Tech Ready Women, we love catching up with inspiring female founders making an impact. In this edition of Female Founder Connect, Crystal McGregor, General Manager at Tech Ready Women, chats with Lynda Coker, co-founder of Co-operty, a platform helping Aussies tackle the housing crisis through secure and simple co-ownership.

Making Homeownership Achievable Through Co-Ownership

With housing affordability at an all-time low, Co-operty makes it easier for people to co-buy property with friends or family. The platform streamlines the legal and financial complexities, helping buyers navigate the process with confidence.

Lynda and her co-founder, Liz, both have backgrounds in financial services and saw the need for a structured, secure approach to shared homeownership. “We’re not matchmakers, and we don’t do property searches, but we take care of everything else—legals, financing, and execution,” Lynda explains.

A Growing Market with Endless Possibilities

Initially focused on parents helping their kids buy and first-home buyers purchasing together, Co-operty’s MVP has uncovered a range of other use cases, including:

  • Parents co-buying with kids instead of gifting money.
  • Friends and flatmates pooling funds to enter the market.
  • Couples formalising joint ownership.
  • Families managing inherited properties.
  • Seniors exploring co-living solutions.

Despite this demand, Co-operty remains focused on its core market: first-home buyers and parents supporting their children.

How Tech Ready Women Helped Shape Co-operty

After launching their MVP, Lynda joined Tech Ready Women’s Investment Ready Program to refine Co-operty’s fundraising strategy.

“This program is all about capital raising, which was perfect for us,” Lynda shares. She particularly valued:

  • Expert mentoring and networking with investors and industry leaders.
  • Deep dives into financial modelling, helping strengthen their business case.
  • A strong, supportive female founder community.

“One of the most valuable parts was the financial model review. Having someone interrogate our numbers and provide insights was a game-changer,” she says.

Major Wins: Partnering with Enterprise Customers

Co-operty is moving from direct-to-customer sales to a scalable platform model. Their first two enterprise customers mark a huge milestone:

  • A non-bank lender is trialling a new home loan for parent-child co-ownership.
  • A property developer is integrating Co-operty into its sales process for first-home buyers.

“These partnerships are key to scaling,” Lynda says. “They’ll help us drive volume and expand our reach.”

A Call to the Community

As Co-operty grows, Lynda is looking to connect with investors and industry partners.

“We’re raising capital, and the warm introductions from Tech Ready Women have been invaluable,” she says. “The community has been so supportive, and I’d love to see even more peer-to-peer collaboration.”

Co-operty is proving that innovation and persistence can break down barriers to homeownership.
